GRT Users VOR Help

I am finally getting around to checking out the VOR reception
on the HXr. I have a GTN650 for one GPS/Com/and nav radio.
I also have the GRT Raim GPS.
I have not tried anything in the air yet due to when I power up everything,
and I hit the CDI/OBS button I am given only two choices. One is
GPS650-1 and the other is GPS2. No NAV selection. Is that because the
Nav radio is in the 650?
If that's the case, the green arrow on the HSI is for GPS and I need
to set one of the bearing indicators to nav?
Any help appreciated. Documentation kind of thin in this area.

Thanks

I can speak to the GRT and a 430, not a 650. When I press CDI/OBS, I only get options the 430 and my other GPS(396). I switch between GPS & VOR/ILS via the 430W. On the 430, I press the CDI button, which toggles the 430 between GPS mode and VLOC mode. The GRT automatically adapts to what the 430 is outputting. While this is std and preferred by most, I thought I read that it could be set up to select via the GRT, but not sure.

Bert, I posted an answer on the GRT web site. As the previous post says, you must make the GPS/vloc selection on the GTN850. Whether or not you need to make an additional selection on the HX depends on how you set it up: "auto-follow" or manual.
Again, depending on how you set it up, on the HSI, the primary choice should be shown as the main cdi bar; the option not chosen will show as a bearing pointer.
