Rv share hangar

I?m thinking about building an rv 7 or a rv 3. I want to share a hangar with a Cessna 172. Does anyone have any experience as to how large a hangar is realistically needed to house both an rv and a 172 under the same roof? Thanks.

I shared a 40' x 40' hangar with a C-180 and a second RV-8. The two RV-8s went in first, with their tails tucked into the corners and wings about 45 degrees to the centerline. Then the 180 went in front. Only down side was having to move the 180 to get my plane out. But we had a tug.

I think it is fair to say, if you can get the Cessna into the hangar, then the RV will fit under/around it. That is assuming it is a rectangular hangar, not a tee hangar of course.

My 40x45 hanger fits a 172 nose first and RV6A tail first worked fine.
