Kavlico Wiring

I've looked through the postings and can't find a specific answer as to how to rework the oil pressure sensor leads to replace a Honeywell unit with a Kavlico sensor. From the schematic it looks to me the Honeywell has a +12V lead, a signal lead and a ground while the Kavlico has a +5V lead, a signal lead and a ground. Can I simply connect the existing ground and signal leads and then splice into the +5V excitation from the MAP sensor in lieu of the +12V? My D180 manual isn't any help because it still shows the VDO unit as the sensor.

Thanks,
Rich

That is exactly what you do. The MAP +5V excite circuit goes to the Kavlico red wire. Black goes to any ground, preferably the extra ground wires from the Dynon, and the green goes to the signal lines for pressure.

Thanks, guys. I thought this was the case, but before a smoke test it is good to hear from those who have gone before!
