Headset Splitter: Do they work.....microphones in parallel??

I have a PS Engineering 2-place intercom and would like to have a headset splitter if I was to take a third passenger. However, when I called tech support at PS Engineering to ask, they mentioned it might not work since you can't have microphones in parallel.

Has anyone tried the AVCOMM headset splitter sold by Aircraft Spruce (http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/avhss.php?clickkey=4791) with a PS Engineering VOX intercom, and does it work?

Might be simpler to just split off the receive side for a short term event. You can parallel those without much effect. Microphones would probably be too weak to hear with lack of gain and impedance mismatch Just nod whenever their lips move... they probably won't know the difference.

NFLIGHTCAM GOPRO HEADSET AUDIO RECORDING CABLE

So the AVCOMM headset splitter I mentioned above works GREAT for two passengers. I did however buy two new matching passive David Clark headsets to make sure the impedance would be the same for the two headsets plugged into the splitter.

To capture audio on my GoPro, I use this cable plugged with the pilot headset: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/goprocable11-12337.php?recfer=15957198

Since you?re paralleling the mikes, that means both will be ?hot? whenever either person talks - increased background noise.
