Not that I'd expect you would leave it on the ground for long, but that would be a good place for corrosion to start if the padding is at all moist.

Absolutely. After the transfer it sat on furniture blankets for a short while before being placed on dry towels. The next day I made up the rug in the photo. Two days later it was placed on padded work stands, and tomorrow I'm fabricating a temporary rolling support for moving it about the shop by myself.

Happy to show it to you! The more eyes that look it over the better. I am so grateful for the help I get from other builders on this site as well as my friends at the airport(s). It really takes a village...

Things are really coming together quickly now, as most of the work was done at home. Still fabricating little things like a glove box, but it's pretty much final assembly at this point.

ps. Getting the aerolift off the truck and installed was quite the task. It has caused a little stir at the airport Everyone is shocked to see the Cub up on the ceiling.

Use SikaFlex, and you won't have to drill any holes! It's a much better system, overall and it looks fantastic too.

Got my RV weighed today. 1002 pounds. Don't think its the lightest 8A ever, but not bad. Realized I need to measure the gear position in the level attitude (needed 3.5" blocks under the mains) do don't have accurate CG position yet. This is with paint, but no gear fairings or wheel pants. Helps make up for 261 lbs of me in it. Now just need to calibrate the fuel guages and time to call the DAR.

Equipment list:
O-360 with B&C starter
Christen inverted oil
Rotec TBI
Lithium battery
B&C SD-8 alternator
Catto 3-blade prop
Day VFR panel (no lights/no gyros)

1002 # with 360 not bad at all. Perfect paint color for your landscape. I will be stomping your grounds in 5 weeks and want to make sure not to enter your "box"

That's very impressive! You've got my fiberglass airplane beat by 30 lbs! Nice job.
