Adding a second screen to a G3X system is quite simple. At a minimum you would only need Power, Ground, and CAN to add a second display as an MFD.
When splicing into the can bus, you will want to make sure that you respect the node length. If the G3X is currently terminated at your display, I would splice into the CAN bus just behind the display and extend the backbone to the new display. Move the termination to your new display and you will have minimal node lengths.
