Indicator Wire Size

Bayou Bert

Well Known Member
What is the smallest wire I can use on indicators?
The AOA switch on the flaps, Ray Allen position on the flaps,
and the trim position indicators. The two PTT wires too.
I have seen on suggestion of 22awg but would like some realtime
advice.
Having a tough time getting all the wires needed through the 4 small holes
in the two wing spars in the cockpit.
Help appreciated.

Ray Allen sells 26 g stuff, so you know it's OK...

WC2 ... 5 WIRE TEFLON® INSTALLATION CABLE

We highly recommend using this wire cable for Ray Allen trim installations. It consists of 5 separate color coded, 26 gauge, 19 strand, silver coated, DuPont FEP Teflon® insulated wires inside a tough, all Teflon® sheathing. This wire cable will easily last the lifetime of your airframe. The cable is .140 inch (3.5 mm) in diameter.

$1.40 per foot

However, it's hard to work with... if 22 g will fit, I'd go with that.

I used the Ray Allen cable for my servos but for the indicators (and the -10 has a lot - two door sensors each side, baggage door, flap, etc.), it will be 22g. It looks like (and Aerotronics can pitch in here if I'm wrong) the bundles to my sticks are all 22g, so 22 for your PTT should be fine as well.
