Default FS: MT Prop Governor

MT Part #: P-860-4, S/N 11G613G.
Appears new as it still has some grease on the mounting flange. Came from a project I bought from an estate.

$750

LeMar,

Do you have any paperwork for the governor? Do you know when it was manufactured? I believe that these governors have a 72 month tbo.

Thank you,

Fabricio

I do not have any paperwork on he governor.
I've looked through the Service Bulletins and Service Letters on the MT Website and have not found reference to a TBO on this model and serial.

Ok LeMar.

I did some research on the MT website and here is what Iíve found:

From the governor manual, page 5, the first 2 digits of the serial number are the year of manufacture. So, yours was made in 2011.

From the SB-1R3, page 10, the TBO is 2000h or 72 months.

https://www.mt-propeller.com/pdf/sbs/sb1r3.pdf

If I got it right, according to the same document, page 1, the TBO starts with the installation on the aircraft.
However, if the installation is later than 24 months after new assembly or overhaul and proper storage provided, the TBO automatically starts after this 24 months, up to maximal 96 months calendar time.

If Iím correct, your governor will be due on 2025 (2011 + 8 + 6) if it was never run and installed.

Iíll think about it. Since Iím still building, I donít want to start counting TBO now.

Best regards,

Fabricio

Mark,

The MT website link is:

https://www.mt-propeller.com

All the documents on the website are both in Deutsch and English.

The P-860-4 is usually used on the O-320/360 with rear governor pad.

Regards,

Fabricio
