Question Tank rib oil-canning like warp

Hi VAF,

This wing rib prep is driving me nuts. Iíve prepped all non fuel-tank leading edge wing ribs to include ensuring each flange is 90 degrees and properly fluted, however the fuel tank ribs are a different story. After fluting each to what I believe is acceptable, I notice there is a springy warp to the ribs if I lightly twist them back and forth that reminds me of oil canning. Is this normal?

If I push them down lightly the remove the warp on a flat table, the flanges look appropriately fluted, however as soon as I let go, they spring slightly into a warp again.

Mine did what you're describing and the finished product turned out just fine.
