Default Mesa or Chandler?

Flying the RV to visit mom in Apache Junction - should I fly into Chandler or Mesa Gateway - or somewhere else?

Going to rent a car and spend a couple days.

Thanks

Both options would be fine but...

Gateway has commercial service and is pretty TSA'd up. GA is certainly welcome but the airport has kind of a sterile feel.

Chandler is a much more hometown type of place. If you are looking to give any rides or show people your plane while you are in town KCHD will be a more relaxed fun place to do that.

There's also Falcon Field (KFFZ) in Mesa. Similar feel as Chandler just a touch closer to AJ.

Default Mesa Falcon

As Bill said, Chandler would be good. Falcon is closer to AJ and just as easy to get around. Either one is good. Gateway is the closest but a little more cumbersome with the commercial stuff going on.

Default Chandler is a great option

My mom lives close to the airport, and we always visit the restaurant when I visit. It is fun to see all the activity on the weekends too. I highly recommend it. 😃
