ACK E-04 ELT Beep when

Does you E-04 beep (once) and flash the LED in the remote switch panel anytime power is initially applied?

After noticing that, I ran another check by leaving the airplane master switch on and tuned com radio to 121.50 and disconnected then reconnect the DIN plug, it beeped one time again and flashed the LED. No transmission heard on 121.50.

Yep. Mine does that. It is a System OK code as far as I can tell from the manual.

I read the manual as saying the system codes are only applicable when the aircraft power is OFF in the required test mode.

Page 11 of the latest manual is pretty specific -

I seem to remember that the beeps at turn on don't mean anything and can be from one to three, but I can't find that reference now...

I wouldn't think it should beep & flash anytime aircraft power is turned on but everything else seems to works as the manual describes.
