Constant speed prop

I removed my c/s prop today to remove the light speed bracket Assy. There was quite a bit of gommy sludge in the crank shaft. Got most of it cleaned out. I was wondering what others use to clean the inside of crank?

Use a clean paper towel. Small bits of cellulose possibly left from the paper are not damaging as thread from a cloth rag could be.

if The sludge is really thick, it can be hard to get with a paper towel, so I’ll use a long thin plastic scraper to carefully work it out. A West Systems stir stick (black plastic)works well. Lift the tail high so any debris falls out rather than in.
