RV-8 Flop tubes

I am wondering if anyone might share pictures of their RV-8 flop tube installation. The plans do not show a lot.

Give me a day or two. My anti hang up brackets do not cover the access door opening. This improves access compared the the way the plans show. I also installed flush fuel drains from a King Air and installed NAS 1473-A08 nut plates to eliminate the fuel leakage problem, that Vans designed in.

I was going to refer you to another thread. However, I've discovered that the photos on that thread are no longer there.

The thread linked below deals primarily with Vans capacitance fuel senders. However, on the second page I have fixed the missing photos which shows my left fuel tank before the rear baffle was installed. Note the NAS1473-08A nutplates and the two piece anti hang up bracket. This bracket won't restrict your access into the tank, like Vans plans will. The plans anti hang up prevents you from being able to put your hand inside the tank. See

This thread is about the flapper door required when installing a flop tube. The original photo had a Photobucket watermark placed right where the flapper door is, which ruined the value of the photo. I've fixed that and also fixed the missing photos relating to my flush fuel drains. See

Anti Hang Up modification

This thread is primarily about installing a fuel filter and fuel pump in each wing root. However, on page 2, I have fixed the photo of my left inner fuel tank rib with the fixed section of the two piece anti hang up modification. It also shows the NAS1473-08A nutplates. It also discusses other methods of preventing fuel leaks at the access door. See
