GMA340 reusing PM2000 wiring?

MsHaas

I'm New Here
A couple of years ago my dad installed a PM2000 stereo intercom and spent like a week pulling the interior to install stereo headset / microphone jacks etc. The PM2000 works and sounds great but we've outgrown it.

We got a GMA340 free from someone upgrading, and are attempting to install it by "piggybacking" through the PM2000 wiring. The PM2000 plugs into a female DB25 connector that's in turn attached to all the aircraft wiring.

We're trying to install the GMA340 with minimal fuss and want to just build a harness that links the appropriate pins in J1 and J2 on the 340 to the equivalent pins on the DB25. We can't figure out how to handle the 'return' lines (-) though. The GMA340 has a dedicated pin for each (e.g., pilot headset, pilot mic, copilot headset, copilot mic). The PM2000 seems to tie all of those to ground though.

Any ideas on how to wire this together? Wiring diagrams here: http://imgur.com/a/NantR

Would all of the following GMA340 pins be connected to pin 1 (ground) of the PM2000 harness?

J1 pin 35 (pilot mic return)
J2 pin 1 (pilot headset return)
J2 pin 2 (copilot headset return)
J2 pin 34 (copilot mic return)

Thanks!
