If your center section is missing the bolts, how are you getting access to put the bolts in? I read Van's suggestion of putting 1 inch holes - but that seems like it would be very difficult to put the nuts on and tighten through those 1 inch holes. Looking for alternatives.

No Holes Required

Bob,

Review all the posts in the original thread, especially Luke's post #21:

http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=145000&page=3

I used his method.
1. Loosen the rudder pedals
2. Remove the control column sliding it forward (make note of hardware for re-assembly)
3. I used a Rigid See-Snake camera to light and view inside the center section
4. I used the Aircraft Tool Supply nut/washer holding tool but you could fashion something on your own
5. I used a box end wrench taped to a rigid aluminum tube.

The inside 8 bolts are "easy". The outer four more difficult but do-able. The first six took me 6 hours. The second six took me three. I did it alone.

Plan on acetaminophen and a massage afterward.

Thanks for the "no holes" suggestion. Sounds like a winner without cutting holes and fabricating patches. I will schedule my massage and stock up on ibuprofen!
