Landing gear mount WD-921 fit

Hi,
Building a 9A and in the process of fitting the landing gear mounts and have encountered an issue regarding the fit in my quick build fuselage.
Have both mounts bolted onto the main spar and all the bolted areas are lined up and lie against the fuselage sides except for the 5 bolt flange areas which do not lie against the webs F-9101 there is a visible gap of 20 - 30 thou on each side. The question I want to know is should I first shim this gap prior to bolting up or will the weldolet flange adapt to the fuselage sides? My gut feeling is to shim prior to drilling the 5 holes and bolt up with the shims fitted.
Has anyone else came about this problem when they fitted the mounts?
Comments appreciated.
