#6 screws

You'd think I'd have this committed to memory by now....but at my age I don't.
What is the proper size drill bit to use for a #6 screw and what countersink bit do you use with it? Might as well tell me what to use for #8 screws as well..I'm sure it will come up eventually. Thanks

Thank-you. If you're going to machine countersink to accept a 6 or 8 dimple...which countersink bits do these use?

The ones I have are labeled for #8 or #6 screws. Example here from Cleaveland: http://www.cleavelandtool.com/Countersink-Cutter-8-Screw/productinfo/CC8/#.Xd7l1zJKi8g

It's sometimes hard to read the print / engraving on the bits though. My trick is to drill the right size hole, then see which bit fits it. Biggest bit that fits wins, just be sure you're using right countersink angle. I only have aviation countersinks so not a problem for me.
