you guys are right. feels like the good old days of going up wind in a nice race boat and tweaking the different lines. dont miss it yet. rather be flying the rv. it goes up wind much better.
My experience with those clam cleats is that they will eventually jam solid. I called them jam cleats and replaced them all with cam cleats like the small Ronstan ones which are available from places like www.apsltd.com.
Um, I did this on my F-27 Corsair trimaran back when I had it. And yes, it went into the wind quite nicely. We might not have been gentlemen, but the beer was cold and the girls were pretty and the boat was fast.
