OK guys sorry to hit an old topic again but figured I would ask if anyone has new ideas on the replacement of a solid rivet with a cherry.
When removing my tank to fix a fuel leak - done thank goodness. I discovered that two of the ribs in my outboard forward wing which are normally pop riveted, had been missed. Not forgotten but the rivets missed the rib. To fix this I had to pull the top skin off and I just can't get my arm in far enough to get the most inboard section along the spar. 12 rivets in the spar that the A&P in my hangar suggests I replace with cherrys.
I was thinking CR 3214-4 or MK3221-BS. But finding a data sheet with the shear load confusing me, to many years since material class in college.
Thanks for any advice.
