How many folks here have had to replace their nose gear fork WD-1203 due to cracks as referenced in SB 16-05-23?

Is there a more durable replacement available?

I'm doing general maintenance on my 12 during the winter months. Just last week I removed the Nose Fork for cleaning / repainting. Fork looks brand new after 200+ hours of operating off rough grass. No indication of cracking - solid design.

Almost 560 hours in 5 years and mine is fine. Just a thought: the recommended takeoff method is to get the nose wheel clear of the ground early. Wheel barrowing might be a contributor. Out of balance vibration might also contribute to cracking. All I am really sure about is that I get the nose wheel clear of the ground as soon as possible on takeoff and keep the nose wheel balanced --- and mine isn't cracked.
