There are also kits to install struts like on the doors, but I wanted to be able to easily remove my door.
...(my baggage door is removable without tools due to a hinge modification I made during the build)
It takes me about 30 seconds to remove the door from the plane...
I can see an option to open past 90 degrees at times may be useful, but what advantage would it be to make the door removable?
One of the challenges (IMO) of the stock door design is that it is tough to attach the door without boogering up the skin (and/or paint), due to how the hinge pin inserts. So, do you attach the door (and booger up the skin) then paint, or do you paint the door off the airplane, and booger up the paint when you attach the door.
Making the door removable and easily re-installable could eliminate the issue.
