What's with the angles on F-01236?

The plans have you cut F-01236 in a few different ways (basically making mirror images of each other). I thought they would fit together but after assembling the step floors I noticed they were not adjacent at all. Why go through all that trouble? is it a weight savings thing?

Jeff,

What is the F-01236? I can't find it in the manual. What page is it on?

Hope this help a little.

Thx David. Have you gotten to the steps where they are installed? Since the parts are mirror images of each other I assumed they would fit together. But when I got to that part of the assembly they are inches apart. So i'm guessing all my tedious work was just to shave some aluminum off to save weight.

My guess is that it may have something to do with the 51% rule. Perhaps there's a requirement that builders have to complete certain fabrication tasks.
