Old Polyester Cowling

I have (what I believe) an older style polyester cowling.

Plan is to install a O320E2A with CS (hydraulic) and EFII.
However reading on the forum, Im wondering of I would make myself a favour ordering a new epoxy style cowling instead due to:

+ No available 12" spinners
+ Issues with FAB and EFII
+ General fit and time to obtain proper results

Or will I be able to make the old one fit on length and accessories with some more epoxy and a new air intake from Vans?

I have a pretty big order soon going in with Vans, so now is the time to add such a big part.

The cowling that came with my Lancair kit is polyester. Over the years I had to make a lot of modifications to it using glass/epoxy, and have had no problems mixing the two. You can't bond to gel-coat, but other than that it was no problem. 12" spinners are widely available so I don't understand your concern there.
