After following the "bolt stretching-thread fretting" problem I decided to check my Skytec NL starter which has been in service 50 hours and found mine to have the problem. A call to Tommy at Skytec and a replacement was on the way with no hassle even before mine was returned. Great customer service!!!

My Skytec NL149 failed the same way after 143 hours, 14 months. I found the aft:confused: section was lose, still functioning and bolts still locked. I'm waiting for a new starter, I sent mine to Alabama on March 17. I found it on the condition inspection.
