Wing Tip Lighting - Wing Skin Cutouts

Now that a complete wing tip LED lighting package (inc. landing lights) is available has anyone gone that route and:

1) Fabricated and covered the existing cutouts in the wing skins.
2) Asked Van's if they can provide the wing skin without the cutouts.

I'm thinking that it would be nice to have a stamped cover that could be flush riveted to the skin to eliminate those cutouts.

This might not be a direct answer to your question but I believe the wing tip lights in RV are not as effective as leading edge lights due to the angel that they will be mounted to. I had a very bright LED light in my wing tip and though had angled them inward as far as they could go, it was hard to point them center and close. A leading edge light can be directed more towards the center.
