Grove Wheel Assembly Question

Stockmanreef

Well Known Member
I have a couple of wheel assembly questions:

1. The inner tubes. The inner tube comes with a silver washer and silver nut which are close the the tire body, then a brass nut and stem cap. Are the silver washer and nut supposed to be removed. I am not sure how I would keep in place when putting the wheel back together or if the thickness of the wheel would prevent the nut and washer from being in place anyway.

2. Looking at the grove site it looks like the tie nuts and bolts should be 90 in-lbs. True?

3. The nose wheel bearing assembly has to be put in place, while the main wheels' bearings are in place when you get them. From the Grove site, it appears that you have to pull the bearings and grease them. True? when should this be done?

Thanks
Ken

Having done several Grove wheel sets, you pretty much got it spot on.

The tubes come with all accessories - fit what is appropriate.

Torque sounds OK

If the bearing comes out, grease it but not too much. Some bearings are press fit and sealed, but the ones we have seen thus far have always been assembled virtually dry for re greasing before final assembly.
