Is grease like a primer war?

I?m at the step where I grease the nose wheel spindle. It says use marine grease. Don?t have that but I do have a big tub of mobile synthetic mhc100. Any reason to not use the mobil?

These are experimental aircraft.... you can use Vaseline if you want.

The water proof grease has shone to provide the best performance in areas that can be exposed to water, like the nose or tail wheel fork.

The manuals try and provide info specific to what Van's does, based on experience. It does not mean it is the only way, and it is always possible that someone will discover something better. In this instance, the water proof grease so far the best known option.
