Just want to update this thread.
I emailed vans support and asked them to confirm their OD countersinking for screws #6 & #8:
1) #8 screws on the spar flange. OD of the csk should be <3/8 = <0.375
2) #6 screw csk should be <5/16 = < 0.3125
