I think Vans does not use different physics than the others; I just think Vans chooses not to artificially limit the Vne down low thru a IAS limit.

Just used a gun and bench top dimpling bar to dimple the heater box on a RV7/9 fuse. If using a gun, turn down the air, otherwise you could be like me and break off the guide point on the dimple die....

The plans should say to use grease duringg assembly. I used Modil 1 synthetic wheel bearing grease from autozone.

For all but the firewall holes the back piece should be a tab that will have some movement. I think a tender touch will go a long way to making this a non issue

My experience when i was a kid working in a aerospace lab is that re-flaring caused cracking. But we were using stainless lines, not aluminum. Seems the right tools are cheap enough anyway.

I think the drag marks are caused by the alcad. The outer pure aluminum part of the alcad is very soft. The marks dont matter, but I try to avoid them.

When i did this, the extra hole had a crack after I flatten the dimple. I ended up enlarging the hole to get rid of the radial crack. I am expecting the extra hole will be filled by the paint shop.

I suspect the pulse from the fuel pump causes the rotor to jump back and forth sending extra pulses to be counted. I also suspect the fuel servo will smooth these out making those installations more...
