mine didn't need any shrinking

But I did spend a lot of time tapering the aft edge of the plexi with a coarse file. This solved the problem with the aluminum laying flat on both the plexi and the rear deck.

I found a loose nut on one of my vent lines under some insulation (inside cabin) that was causing intermittent fuel smells on climbout. Spent lots of time looking for the source before I found it.

i really like a double battery design

had same in my last Mooney and now in my rv7a. batteries are a common source of ignition for fires during a crash. while a 20+ g design might not be practical, I urge you to think about crash loads...

My suggestion is

that the parts should be "nested" together better before riveting. Try squeezing the whole assembly with your dimple dies before riveting. I did this a lot resulting in much better fit and riveting...

dont know about quality being an issue with matco. Their master cyls are fine if you add an extra spring to ensure they open completely. The two piston groves have significantly higher capacity.
