make sure the rubber contacting surface is very clean, it will grip better. I also put rivet tape on the face of the set to keep from scratching surface if it does wander. hope this helps....

flush set

try using a swivel flush rivet set. they have a rubber ring around them and tend to stay in one spot.

Check the fuel nozzle

Went to fuel the Maule the other day, noticed the safety cap on the fuel nozzle had a gritty feel when I removed it. Someone had retracted the fuel hose and nozzle through the gravel...NICE!

Ship everything you can by U.S. Postal Service. items under $20 are just delivered to you no tax, no brokerage nothing. Great for small parts, replacement things that get "Ooopsed" etc.

Wear a long sleeve shirt or fleece

A long sleeve shirt or thin fleece is what I use... will help save your arms from scratches and bruises when you reach through lightening holes. the fleece hangs up on the edges and your arm slides...

The MD-RA website in Canada refers to the U.S. list of kit aircraft that meet the 51% rule for Amateur built. I was looking up the RV-12 and it's now on the list that shows on the FEB 29th 2012...

As long as the inspector can see every rivet then they can see if they are acceptable. It takes very little time to rivet the outside perimeter especially with a pneumatic squeezer that if in doubt...

Get a rivet removal tool. Helps a lot, makes the job of rivet removal a lot faster and accurate. Can't get it on a rivet in tight spaces but mine's paid for itself many times over. I have a 5- rivet...
