No problem with my Crows

I ordered mine thru Abby at Flightline Interiors and they fit my RV-14 perfectly. I have not flown yet, so cannot comment on any possible stick interference. Mine are 5-point restraints with the...

Thanks, but one more question

Appreciate all the responses. Watched YouTube, read the instructions. One thing remains unclear. These are not covers for the pins as Vanís designed, so how are you guys treating the forward end on...

Aerosport hinge pin covers?

Has anyone installed the Aerosport hinge pin covers in their cowling? If so, feedback? Did it go smoothly and what did you have to change from the Vanís installation? Thank you.

Not an early kit but still a problem area

My kit is #329 and even with the ďnotchesĒ and even though I tried everything I could think of, I could not get the molex connectors through there. So I cut them off, fished the wires through, and...

Canopy fit

My only comment would be that I tried too hard to make it fit without trimming it. Once I decided to trim about a quarter inch off the aft edge and about 3/16Ē off the bottom of both sides, it all...

I dimpled

I remember really sweating that fluting business, because it seemed like no matter what I did, it didn't make it much better. But I dimpled 1402 and 1403 so that I could see whatever gap there might...

Recently attached my elevators

My down travel was 24.8 degrees from the get go, so no adjustment made there. My up elevator travel was about 5 degrees less than the max 30degrees so I had to file the stop, which I did until I...

Last sentence almost made me cry!

Thanks for the awesome post, Tom! Can't wait to do some serious traveling in my RV-14. Having it find a new home must have been your intent all along? Anyway, thanks again for the great report!

Washer-00007

Hey, Guys - In the finishing kit, in the bottom of a brown paper bag you will find a bunch of small aluminum washers that look like a whole lotta nothing. Don't lose them; don't even lose one of...

Canopy pins - do you lube them?

My canopy pins are a pretty tight fit and make a raspy noise moving either way thru the roll bar bushings. Is anybody lubricating theirs and with what? Thanks.

belt sander

I have a small on, Porter Cable 371. It's kind of heavy, but only maybe a 2 1/2 x 14" belt. I used 80, and then 120; finished with a long block of wood with 220 and then scraped it shiny... whole...

Rudder cable

One caution - it's fine to build the brake pedals and install the rudder/brake assembly, brake lines, etc. However, do not run the rudder cable into that section if it is already in the tailcone, as...

Thanks, guys

Appreciate the feedback. Moving the canopy forward quickly messes up the fit there due to the tapered canopy frame. I really dreaded trimming, but with my belt sander it was a non-event. Finished...

Thatís what I did

While awaiting space in my shared building to join the fuselage sections, that is what I did. Also seat backs. Have not experienced any downside to that so far.

You need to remove those

You're right, they are temporary rivets to hold things securely in place during shipment. You need to get them out, and make sure both ends of the rivets are out of the way before you join the two...

The C-01442C Canopy Fixture when cleco'ed on created a gap very much like yours. I went with it; and it seems to work now that I am fitting the canopy.

Instructions in my manual use only the base to check range of motion, not the stick. So the plans can be followed even though by design the lower and upper stick shafts are not parallel.
