RV9A with battery on the right side(co-pilot). Drawing 31A for the PC680. The only deviation from the plans was to mount the plate nuts on the cockpit side of the firewall instead of on the box.

I tried 2000 rpm LOP and can't find the results. From memory, it was 143 kts at 5.4...

#8 screws

I replaced the hinges with 3 screws on each side. I trimmed the loops off of the hinge on the firewall and left that as a shim for the plate with nut plates attached.

Alternator size

My understanding from talking to EarthX is that the alternator output determines the size. The 680 is limited to 60 amps and the 900 is sized for 70 amps.

How about a different approach. An EarthX Lithium Iron battery has about 20% higher voltage to the starter. It made my starter problems disappear and saved 10 pounds in the process.
