I did as well but for different reasons.
I wanted the rivets and screws to contrast
I wanted to paint areas that would show. The idea was to save weight as I do not plan on a full interior.

Tie down rings

I'm installing 3/8-16 nutplates in my floors for the tie down rings to serve double duty.
Yes, extra work but saves weight. They will be removed and relocated to the wings for tie down when needed....

Tie down bracket

If the wing is still open, replace the brackets and install them so they are flush. That's what I did.
Cleveland sells a kit with three brackets and rings. Brackets are pre-tapped.

I see the same issue as many others.
Center the hole in the vertex of the angle between the flange and web.
You'll have plenty of edge distance and it can be filed if you need to remove more...
