I ran my RV8 with no spinner for a couple of weeks awaiting repair of the spinner and noticed no difference in cruise speed or CHTs.

Anecdotal only: I use the same plugs and change them at each condition inspection. I've never had a plug that looks like it even needs to be changed. I fly about 100 hrs/yr.

I try to limit back seat to 200#. I have taken a 240# person but I moved all my loose stuff (tools, spare oil, etc.) to the front baggage compartment. As you noticed, very pitch sensitive.

As far as I know, all 8s have adjustable rudder pedals. Some are in-flight adjustable and some are not.

I would estimate 2 hours to make adjustments to the ground only adjustable rudder pedals.

Wet compass is not required. A "magnetic direction indicator" is required. If you are installing glass instruments, that will include the required indicator. I do not have a wet compass in my plane.

I'm with Walt. With a G5 as backup to your other glass why bother with the round dials? With a properly designed electrical system and backup batteries the odds of a total blackout are very slim.

I too call BS on props leaking for a few hours after installation.

Heat is indeed dissipated through the prop, though probably not like you are thinking. Heat energy from combustion is mechanically converted to thrust provided by the prop.
