There is a big difference between a:
45K rv-6 meaning 150hp, wood prop, 6pk panel and bad or no paint or bad paint.
vs
a 75K -6 with 180hp CS prop with...

I had TSFlightlines alter my MP line between the #3 cylinder head and the FW with a TEE inserted in the line. He even clocked the fitting for me.
It made a nice install. Ran a seperate black hose...

It appears the original poster is learning to fly the RV and most of us know the beginning is the toughest. Once you know or "feel" the RV it is up to you what technique you use.

Fix vs float

Think of the mil spec units like nut plates....fixed or floating nutplates, same thought as to location.

The float is a tiny bit but could add up.
Imagine floating units everywhere, the cowling...

Check that you are indeed attaching the buzz box leads to the P-Lead terminal and not the ground terminal, as they are right next to each other...

The solenoid has a "in" and "out"....marked with a 1 and 2....(not sure of the order), if it is reversed it can leak fuel though. The solenoid can go bad as well. The install manual says it can...
