Try to get a ride with a very experienced RV-12 pilot. It flies much better with two in it, but you will get the idea if it is gusty and more than 15kts.

With an RV-12 - work your way up very slowly until you know where you are comfortable. A 10kt 90 degree crosswind can be a real surprise in a very light plane. I have over 1,200 hours in my RV-12....

Don't think you could. Solid squeezed rivets would be hard to do. Flange to rivet to would still be there. I better say no you can't. Having smaller hands will help. Just not a fun job.

No reason to. Oil in the tank is approx. therm value, and that is all that is important. Agree, your test could warm up the oil at then engine, but it is just not important.
