If you don't want to hang the prop yet, just hang close to its weight off the crankshaft.
That would get you close enough to simulate it. I doubt it will sag more than an 1/8 inch more than without...

It's not easy to tell with the belt on it, so remove the belt and grab the pulley and see if you have play. I'd be interested to know if you have the same issue as I did.

I've done a few using the rivet gun and the dimple dies and found you can turn the pressure WAY down and after only a few taps with my 3X gun it turned out...

Mine was the same way, you can get more clearance by removing it and taking the two pieces apart and swapping the top to the bottom then re-installing it. This will give you more clearance.
