On my wings I have “painted grip/anti slip” and it also has lasted almost 8 years and still going strong.

I had that once and found that my EGT connection at the engine side was loose. I disconnected, applied more electronic lube, tighten the female side of the blade connector slightly and it fixed it.

Seems like an odd design.... down position turning fuel ON seems like a good failsafe, but it just seems a little wonky to have a push/pull type fuel valve.
