I use rattle can NAPA 7220 for the little touch ups. I spray a little in a disposable cup and use a Q-tip to apply it.
No need to scuff the Akzo. That stuff is hard....

Now rub a piece of Gorilla tape on each. Leave it over night and rip it off.
The Aluminum Oxide is still there and primer could still flake off later.

I didnt sand. I did slosh some lacquer thinner and dried before priming. All the primer is doing is acting as a barrier. Not much chance anything will scratch it. I have a neat tip for priming tubes....

I typically zhoot for .005" less than the reamer except of course for pre-punched holes.
Seems like Vans calls for a .311" for several holes. I've used it a few times.

I recommen buying a section of the wider flange hinge for the flaps. Use 1/2 on each side. No hole edge distance issues. Also have a neat trick for drilling them. Check my blog.
