F-335 Tunnel Bulkhead Question

David Paule

Well Known Member
I've read that these ought to be set aft slightly to allow for the landing gear.

Can anyone comment about this and perhaps tell me if so, how far?

Thanks!

Dave
Skinning my RV-3B fuselage right now

Mine is set back 1? from the front of the firewall flange and side skin.
This allows 3/8? clearance behind the gear socket on the motor mount
It could be set back further if you like since the gear leg intersection fairing will cover it.

G'day Dave,
I set mine to the plans(inline with the firewall) and have a little less than 1/4 inch clearance, it doesn't allow a lot of space for the brake lines. My lines run down the back of the gear leg, It is no problem but I will need to ensure no chaffing etc. I also set the end piece of F335 with the flanges inside thinking it might help to avoid collecting gunk in the recess.
