Aileron A407 bracket

I've searched and searched and can't find anything on this which makes me worried I'm the only one who has this problem - never a good sign.

I'm almost finished riveting the ailerons on my RV-8 wings and the plans call for an AN3-4A bolt and AN960-10L washer to attach the A407 bracket to the nutplate on the spar and reinforcing plate.

The problem is the washer interferes with the bend in the bracket and the head of the bolt can't sit flush. See the pictures below.

So am I the only person in the history to have this problem? Did I totally screw something up?

Do i leave out the AN960 washer which seems like the bolt head will clear the radius of the bracket or grind down one side of the washer to clear the radius in the bracket?

I sent Van's support an email this morning but still haven't heard back and it's killing me! I'm sure we've all been there......

Van's answer

In case anyone ever searches for this in the future, here is the answer straight from Van's:

"Modify the washers as needed so all hardware and pats will mate up flat against one another. It?s possible it could require a second washer in this area to keep the bolt from interfering with the bend radios. This is common on aileron brackets, nothing done wrong on your end.
