Angle valve to cowl spacing

Hi Guys,
I'm just trimming the baffles on an angle valve engine and at the top of cylinder number 2 I have about 1/8 of an inch left on the baffle and its just about clearing the cowl (maybe a 1/16).What have other guys done in this situation,is it possible to file down the top of the cylinder above the screw a little bit as there is plenty of meat on it there?
Open to suggestions,
Cheers

A lot of guys have moved the baffle on the angle valve engine's left side to the inboard side of the cylinder flange. You should be able to find some photos of this in the archives. We did it on an RV-8 recently and it really solves the clearance problem on the left side of the engine.
