FF-1216 Pitot line - did I do something wrong?

I cut the FF-1216 pitot line to 54.5" as shown on 45a-04, connected it to the Aft Pitot Line where Figure 1 shows and routed it, as best as I can tell, like the figure on 45a-01 shows. That results in a pitot line that's about 20" too long. Better long than short but I hesitate cutting it at the aft end of the pitot tube to connect it there because I don't think I've seen a measurement in the drawings that far off and I wonder what I did wrong or if I did.

Its been a while since I installed my pitot line but as I recall my Serial Number 120496 kit was manufactured during the period of transition between the original Dynon 180 and the then-new Skyview. The pitot plumbing is different for these two installations -- the 180 plumbing goes to the instrument panel and the SV plumbing goes to the ADAHR located behind the baggage bulkhead. The transition plans may be somewhat confusing in this regard.
