Nosewheel to tailwheel

The kit is $1500?

The hours refer to time required to make the conversion?

Would like to hear from builders who have done the conversion.

Engine mount and gear legs: 1200
tail wheel sub kit: 200 (this can go up with special things like a Doug Bell TW and a silver bullet TW spring)
extra stuff: 100

The hours are for the conversion. The biggest thing is the two vertical aluminum straps that hold the HS down. If the lower part of those straps aren't tappered it's much easier to install the tail wheel weldment. You will have to remove the last bulkhead to get the weldment in a drilled.

I just got my new engine mount and gear legs, after a 3 month wait. I did the tail wheel install a while back, it took about 20 hours. I will be pulling the engine this weekend to install the new engine mount and landing gear. There is a person on this list that recently did the conversion on his 7A. He got his parts much quicker than I did so he's up flying already.

If you built your plane it should be quite easy. If not you may want some help.
