Priming stainless?

Hi all,

What's the consensus on priming the stainless bulkheads? I was thinking I would just prime the flanges where they contact the skin (unless you can convince me otherwise).

Thanks,

What bulkheads? If you mean the firewall... dont bother priming the stainless steel, might want to prime the edge of the aluminum skins where they contact one another. I dont think you have to worry about that stainless... ;)

Bulkheads

Hi Jeff,

The F-707, F-708, etc. bulkheads. Didn't think I needed to prime stainless steel, except maybe where it touches aluminum.

There ya go... what Sam said. Stainless usually means stainless steel... sorry for the confusion.

Heres good reference to priming. Heres a pic of the inside of a 1946 Luscombe.

D'OH!!

Don't I feel stupid. Never even checked to see what they were made of. I should have been able to tell by weight.

Thanks guys.
