"High Build Primer" recommendation?

ArVeeNiner

I'm presently doing my windshield fiberglass fairings. I've read that a "high build primer" is used as the final step in the process. What brand is typcially used? I see that SEM Products has what they call "High Build Primer Surfacer" in rattle cans but Aircraft Spruce sells something else. I'm not planning on going to the paint shop for a couple of years so I'm not looking for the perfect prep at this point. Thoughts?

Thanks

I would not use rattle cans for this, they just don't build enough. Unfortunately, all the good high build primers are sold by the gallon and for around $115. You can use it on your cowling, wheel pants and fairings as well though.

Thanks. Since I plan to be flying for a year or two without paint, is it important that I worry about blending and priming now? I do want to protect the fiberglass but I don't want to do a full blown paint prep now. Does that make sense?
