Napa accomodations

Planning another wine weekend to Napa Valley. Last Spring, we stayed at Embassy Suites... nice place and due to the bad economy, we were able to get good rates. This year, seems that people are spending again and the bargains aren't to be had.

So, what's your favorite place to stay in that neighborhood? We're thinking something better than typical Motel 6 accomodations. There's plenty of high-priced stuff out there, but where are the deals for nicer places that still leave us with enough $$ for wine and avgas?

I'd go to

Calistoga. If you stay in town you can walk to some nice restaurants and not have to worry about imbibing and driving. If you worked the valley from the south before then this would be a good trip. You could fly to Santa Rosa and go up through Alexander Valley and down into Knights Valley above Calistoga. Option there is to take Mark West Springs road right over to Calistoga and travel from there. The spas in Calistoga are nice also.
