Please note, I am not an avionics guy.

Is the RV-8 considered a "tilted" panel or will just a normal old gyro suffice?j

Yes it is tilted
Pretty sure its spec'd 8 degrees like the other models.
Mine measured 7 degrees but whats one degree amongst friends.
