Alternator noise filters

HI,
I'm getting alternator whine through the headsets when pullling more than about 20 amp's. Does anyone have any experience with installing noise filters?
I have the Van's NP internally regulated 60 amp. Also, is it worth installing a blast tube to cool the regulator?
Thanks, Don B

first Thing.....

...and I just re-learned this lesson this week, is to make sure that your headset jacks (and all the audio lines to and from the audio panel) are only grounded at the audio panel end. Make sure that you used insulating washers on all the jacks to keep them from grounding at that end. If you've done that, then start going after fancy filters.....

Yes to air, Yes to central ground

There is a current thread that may shed some light on this:

As far as blast tube I say emphatically yes (nothing to do with noise). A thread has some info:

(Some say you don't need it; they may be coming from the stand point of having an externally regulated alternator. YOu have have an extra electronic module that lives in the back of the alternator and all electronics that handle power benefit from cooling. A 0.10 cent worth of platic blast cooling tube pointed at the voltage regulator heat sink is value added. Bisides is cost nothing and weighs even less. Use one of those split plastic ribbed tubes)

Drill and undersized hole in the baffle in the ramp leading up to cylinder #1. The plastic loom just pops in. The split in the loom stays fairly tight but you can be glued with some adhesive or silicon seal. The tube can be pointed at the back of the alternator with some bracket or nylon tie.
